Project Overview

date completed
January 2021

CBH Group is taking steps to ensure the longevity of the one of its 4 Wharfs, The Kwinana Grain Terminal (KGT). KGT is considered one of CBHs most valuable assets, being a major exporting port for many of WAs farmers. To increase durability in its harsh environment and stop any further decay to this heavily used Wharf. CBH has set aside expenses to rewrap its pylons and revamp its Corrosion resistance using Cathodic Protection.

The Existing setup has now been replaced with a new system, an impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) with 20 Transformer Rectifier Units (TRU) delivering a direct current (DC) to 60 anodes. The TRU’s require a stable alternating current (AC) current to operate effectively.
